Denham Village Hall is part of the village's World War 2 history, having been the guardroom for the USAAF base until 1945. The Hall is currently closed until renovations can be carried out to allow this historic building to be used again as a community space.
The renovations will be managed by Denham Community Council, which is a new registered charity set up for this purpose and to look after the Hall once it is back in operation.
After four years of fundraising, through both local events and grant applications, we are delighted to confirm that we now have sufficient funding committed to fully renovate Denham Village Hall and get it back into community use. A substantial award of £150,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund will secure the Village Hall as an important asset for the village for many years to come and work will commence immediately.
We are hugely grateful to the lottery fund and to all those who have provided funding, as well as to everyone that has attended local fundraising events. A list of donors and further updates can be found on the Denham Community Council website Home (denhamccmidsuffolk.org.uk) where we will also be documenting renovation progress. We look forward to welcoming you to events at the Hall in due course!
